Most of my urban landscape work depicts the Capitol Hill neighborhood and its surrounding areas. Until recently, I have only pursued landscape painting as a reluctant exercise for myself. The idea of teaching myself color through landscape painting seemed logical, but I never thought much about the expressive potential of landscape painting. Yet, I have found myself again and again as a student with wonder in my eyes and lessons hard learned one painting at a time.
